We went to animal intervention education on Saturday, December 18th.
Animal-assisted education, which had been suspended due to the corona disaster, has been resumed. This time, we visited Kikusui Gakuen, an orphanage in Kumamoto City. From Kyudo, 21 people including the vice-principal Takagi-sensei, faculty members and students, and 10 dogs and cats participated in the event. By the way, for children who have few opportunities to touch animals ① What kind of state does it mean to be alive? ② Characteristics of the body of dogs and cats. ③ We made various efforts with the goal of getting people to understand these three methods of getting along with dogs and cats. First, I explained each of them using the panel. Next, I had them actually interact with the animals and received many questions about them. At the end, the students were deeply moved by the words of gratitude from the participating child representatives. It was the first animal-assisted education at Kikusui Gakuen, but I feel that it was a great achievement to make everyone who participated happy and interested in animals. The Kyudo students who participated in the words “Come again!” Seemed to have a sense of accomplishment. As expected! Kyudosei! Thank you for your hard work!
