Frequently Asked Questions (Q & A)

Here are some of the frequently asked questions.

Here, in order to deepen your understanding of Kyushu Animal Academy, we have summarized the frequently asked questions and answers from the inquiries received from all of you.

Q1. I’m a complete beginner and I don’t know how to handle animals. Can I become a trimmer?

It’s natural that everyone is a beginner at first and doesn’t know what to do.
At Kyushu Animal Academy, trimming lectures and practical training begin with the basics of holding, moving, and brushing scissors, and will surely raise the level step by step, including how to handle animals.
Some people may feel uneasy if their hands are not dexterous, but we teach them until they can learn trimming techniques through repeated practical training experiences.
The goal is to “finish one animal per person”, but I will teach it according to the individual level.

Q2. I have never studied animals, is that okay?

A little different from studying up to high school, Kyushu Animal Academy will study specialized fields related to animals in order to realize the dream of working in the animal industry. At the beginning, we will learn from the basics, so even those who have not studied animals will be taught so that they can fully understand.
There are also lectures that include stories from the actual animal industry and case studies, so you can get a sense of fulfillment that what you are learning now will lead to the future.

Q3. I am a member of society, but I want to get a job related to animals, so can I still enroll?

Not only workers, but also some people enter after graduating from or dropping out of college or vocational school.
Although they are of different ages, there are a lot of people who want to get a job related to animals and have a feeling of “I like animals”, so it seems that they are naturally able to work as friends.
The desire to learn about animals is more important than age.

Q4. I have never kept an animal, is that okay?

365 days a year, morning and evening, at Kyushu Animal Academy, we take care of more than 50 school animals such as dogs, cats, birds, iguanas, miniature horses, and turtles. To take care of this animal, each student will be in charge of the animal, and they will learn how to interact with the animal, how to take care of food, health care, cleaning, etc.
Since we take care of the animals in charge every day, you can also learn how to communicate with animals.
People who have not been able to interact with animals until now can actively interact with many animals.

Q5. Is it possible to participate in the open campus, visit the school, and experience activities?

We hold open campuses on a regular basis. You can experience the lessons that are actually conducted at Kyushu Animal Academy, such as hands-on lectures, practical training, and trimming. The theme of the lecture at Kyudo’s open campus changes every time. You can also participate every time. There are also times when graduates working in the field are in charge.
