Social service activities
Activities that foster compassion for people and animals.
We participate as volunteers in various activities related to animals and are actively engaged in activities. Through our efforts in this society, we feel the connection between animals and people with our mind and body.
Frequent communication with older people not only enhances communication skills, but also fosters compassion. The Ryunosuke Animal Medical Center has an organization called “Box Ryunosuke” for the purpose of volunteer activities. In order to save the lives of animals and create a better symbiosis with humans, we need to work widely with society. Gather friends who love animals in various fields and have them demonstrate their strengths in their respective fields of expertise. By working hand in hand and cooperating with each other, synergistic effects lead to better results. For that reason, “Box Ryunosuke” was organized.

People with dementia remember the name of a therapy animal that comes only once a month, and people who don’t usually laugh talk with the best smile when they are touching animals. .. .. It is an activity that creates many miracles.

Disaster animal support activities
The Kumamoto earthquake occurred in April 2016. Immediately after the outbreak, the Ryunosuke Animal Medical Center accepted evacuees with pets and acted as a shelter for more than 300 people. At Ryunosuke Animal Hospital, we visited the areas affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake when remodeling the hospital. From that experience, we thought it was an urgent task to secure a place where pets could evacuate.
Then, in September 2013, the school was opened with a large building area, a week’s worth of food and 18 tons of water, as well as private power generation and amateur radio antennas. In fact, at the time of the Kumamoto earthquake, it became a base for collecting animal supplies from all over the country, and delivered the animal supplies that arrived at the Ryunosuke Medical Center to each evacuation center. Students from Kyushu Animal Academy played an important role in sorting, storing, and delivering.
Dream Night at the Zoo
This activity aims to invite children facing chronic and intractable diseases, children with disabilities, and their families to the zoo after business hours so that they can have a good time without hesitation. It all started in 1996 when the Rotterdam Zoo in the Netherlands invited children with cancer and their families. It is also held twice a year at the Kumamoto City Zoological and Botanical Gardens, and students from the Kyushu Animal Academy also participate as volunteers and play an active role. After the Kumamoto earthquake, the Kumamoto City Zoological and Botanical Garden was partially opened, so it was suspended, but it was revived in June of the first year of Reiwa.
